Pam Hogan

Pam Hogan

Redwood Primary Co-Teacher

Pam Hogan has worked in a Montessori school for over 30 years as a lead teacher in Primary and Toddler classrooms. As a traditional preschool teacher, she felt that there was something missing; when she discovered Montessori and took the training in 1979 in Portland, Oregon a whole new world opened up. Guiding rather than instructing the young child toward self-direction, independence, and love of learning was a new concept and she embraced it wholeheartedly. Over the years she has watched as children embrace the prepared environment and become eager learners and competent members of the classroom community. Mrs. Hogan came to the Outdoor Environment at MIP in 2016 and joined the Redwood Primary Team as Co-Teacher in 2018.

Alyce Nunn is a trained AMI Primary Assistant and joined Montessori in the Park as the Outdoor Environment guide in 2018. She received her BA in Graphic Design from The Art Institute of Phoenix in 2007, and believes art is essential in the Montessori classroom. Artists have always found inspiration in nature, and Alyce believes children are natural artists who are drawn to nature. It is her pleasure the guide the children in exploring their world outside of the classroom.

“There must be provision for the child to have contact with nature, to understand and appreciate the order, the harmony and the beauty in nature.”
